While the FIRST organization is a strong catalyst to students looking to pursue careers in engineering, many schools cannot afford to support their athletics program and robotics. 1089 is very lucky to receive financial support from Bristol-Myers Squibb, an international pharmaceuticals and related health care products company. In addition, the team raised over $2,500 through its own fundraising efforts, and is continuously finding new ways to raise more.
Your support is always welcome. We are always looking for financial donations to cover travel expenses for our students and material donations such as tools, wood, and metal to help alleviate construction costs. If you are a professional engineer feeling the urge to build something fun, a consultant looking to help educate students about business, or a parent who just wants to volunteer time to an amazing program, we can use you! As our program continues to grow, we will need the support of parents and community members to maximize the potential for our students.
